This is definitely the hotel with THE BEST VIEW I've ever stayed at!!!! Yoo2 Hotel is a quite new hotel in Rio de Janeiro. It is located in Botafago with the most incredible view over Sugarloaf mountain.
I have been dreaming to come to Rio de Janeiro for quite a while and the main reason was the breathtaking landscape. We booked a Sugar Room at Yoo2 which is one of the corner rooms with panoramic view over Botafago Bay and towards Sugarloaf mountain. It was really amazing, waking up and seeing this view made me once again how much I love traveling.
Aside from the view the hotel itself is super new and beautifully decorated. Loved the floral design all over the lobby and the room decor was hip with a touch of local influences such as the tiles in the bathroom. I have not seen the other rooms but I strongly recommend to book the Sugar Room because the view is the main reason we wanted to stay here.
Botafago is a rather business area and not that close to Copacabana or Ipanema (ca 15 minutes by car). However other great places like Lapa, Santa Theresa and the Olympic Boulevard are quite close.
Breakfast is included in the room rate and the buffet offers quite a variety of local pastry and sweets as well as cold cuts and fruits. Loved especially the many different fresh juices they had.
Last but not least, make sure to stop by on the roof bar which is open from 10 AM. Soaking in the view with no windows between you is even more impressive. We spent a lot of time up here enjoying cocktails and just gazing. There is also a pool area on the roof. The rooftop bar is also open to non-hotel guests and might get crowded during sunset so make sure to head up there early to reserve the best spot.
This place was definitely a big highlight during our South America trip.
