The beautiful city of Hamburg is just a quick train ride away from Berlin so we treated ourselves with a weekend getaway to city of fisherman. Our hotel 25 Hours was located in the 'Hafen City' area which is close to the Port of Hamburg. Hence the theme of the hotel was really suitable. Every corner and detail of the hotel was inspired from the marine.
The rooms are called cabins and you can experience the journey of a sailor exploring the seas. So really cool idea and design and speak really to the wanderluster.
The lobby is warm and cozy and there is a cute shop where you buy a nice and different souvenir. The restaurant 'Heimat' is located on the ground floor. Here breakfast is served and for lunch or dinner you can treat yourself to the local cuisine of Hamburg. Or you can just drop by for a drink at the bar.
Let me tell you more about our cabin. We had a M Cabin+ on the 5th floor with view on the port. The cabin itself was spacious and super cozy. A true gem to spend some cozy time after a day exploring the city. The details are really cute. Bed was really comfy as well. Free Blutooth speaker, some magazines, a teddy bear and the log book where just some of the many nice touches that made us smile. Although the hotel is quite big with 170 rooms it gave me a boutique hotel vibe that I really love and gives me the 'home away from home' feeling.
Breakfast was served until 11:30 on weekends, yayyy so we can sleep in and then enjoy some awesome Elbgold coffee and enjoy breakfast. The breakfast is served buffet style with many cold and warm options. The smashed avocado stole my heart, which is usually never offered in breakfast buffets. I also loved the local touch with different fish options and the 'Griesschen', a local sweet sort of pudding.
Another great offer from the hotel is the free bike rental as well as the free MINI rental. Yes you read correct, free! You can borrow the MINI for up to 4 hours to explore the city. Really nice option and also really different.
The location of the hotel is great. Located in the modern Überseequartier you have some shops and restaurant just around the corner. The Unesco World Heritage Site Speicherstadt is 5 minutes walk away. The main city center is also reachable by foot. So really great area to explore the city.

We really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back soon.
