Heritance Aarah Maldives Review - An All Inclusive Luxury Family Vacation

Back in 2021, we visited Heritance Aarah as a couple, right after the world slowly started recovering from the pandemic. That trip was all about recharging, indulging in gourmet cuisine, and simply enjoying the serene beauty of the Maldives. I wrote a detailed review of our first stay here, and I still remember the feeling of waking up in an overwater villa with nothing but ocean all around us.

Im Jahr 2021 waren wir zum ersten Mal im Heritance Aarah – damals noch als Paar, kurz nachdem sich die Welt langsam vom Pandemie-Schock erholt hat. Diese Reise drehte sich komplett ums Abschalten, gutes Essen genießen und die Ruhe der Malediven aufsaugen. Ich habe damals eine ausführliche Review über unseren Aufenthalt geschrieben – und ich erinnere mich noch genau an das Gefühl, morgens in einer Overwater Villa aufzuwachen, umgeben vom türkisblauen Ozean.

Fast forward to 2025—our lives have changed quite a bit. We’re now a family of three, traveling with our curious and energetic 2.5-year-old son, Teo. We knew we wanted to return to the Maldives, and especially Heritance Aarah, and were curious to experience the island as a family with kids. Spoiler alert: it absolutely was perfect. In fact, it exceeded all our expectations as a family-friendly luxury resort in the Maldives.

DE: 2025 hat sich unser Leben ganz schön verändert. Wir sind inzwischen zu dritt unterwegs – mit unserem neugierigen, energiegeladenen 2,5-jährigen Sohn Teo. Uns war sofort klar: wir wollen nochmal auf die Malediven. Und ganz besonders zurück ins Heritance Aarah. Wir waren gespannt, wie sich das Resort mit Kind anfühlt – und was soll ich sagen? Es war einfach perfekt. Sogar noch besser, als wir es uns vorgestellt hatten.

From the moment we arrived at the island, we instantly felt welcomed. The check-in process was smooth and quick. While we sipped on a refreshing welcome drink, Teo got his own little mocktail. Each guest is assigned a dedicated butler who makes sure everything is taken care of and you can truly relax. Special thanks to Pratheem who took such good care of us.

Schon beim Ankommen auf der Insel haben wir uns sofort willkommen gefühlt. Der Check-in war schnell und unkompliziert. Während wir einen frischen Willkommensdrink bekommen haben, gab's für Teo seinen eigenen kleinen Kinder-Mocktail. Jeder Gast bekommt hier einen persönlichen Butler, der sich um alles kümmert, sodass man einfach entspannen kann. Ein großes Dankeschön an Pratheem, der sich so herzlich um uns gekümmert hat.

Our Stay: Beach Villa vs. Ocean Villa with a Toddler

We wanted to experience both sides of the island this time, so we split our stay between a Beach Villa and an Ocean Villa—and each brought its own kind of magic.

The Beach Villa – Easy, Breezy Family Living

The Beach Villa had direct access to a quiet and beautiful stretch of beach with powdery white sand and gentle waves. Teo could run in and out to the beach while we lounged under the palms, which made for blissfully easy mornings. There was also a private shaded deck with comfortable seating —great for cooling off in the afternoon without worrying about sun exposure.

Inside the villa, there was plenty of space to spread out. The layout is ideal for families who want a bit of space to breathe but still want to be close to the beach. One feature I love with beach villas, which you don't get with a overwater villa, is the outdoor bathroom and shower.

Wir wollten diesmal beide Seiten der Insel erleben und haben unseren Aufenthalt aufgeteilt – zuerst in einer Beach Villa, dann in einer Ocean Villa. Und jede Villa hatte ihren ganz eigenen Zauber.

Die Beach Villa – Easy Family Vibes direkt am Strand

Die Beach Villa hatte direkten Zugang zu einem ruhigen, traumhaft schönen Strand mit puderzuckerweißem Sand und sanften Wellen. Teo konnte jederzeit raus zum Strand flitzen, während wir entspannt unter Palmen gechillt haben – perfekte Familienmorgen! Die schattige Terrasse mit gemütlichen Sitzplätzen war ideal, um sich nachmittags vor der Sonne zurückzuziehen.

Auch innen war die Villa super geräumig. Genau richtig für Familien, die etwas mehr Platz wollen, aber trotzdem direkt am Meer sein möchten. Was ich bei Beach Villas besonders liebe (was Overwater Villas nicht bieten), ist das Outdoor-Badezimmer mit Dusche – einfach ein Highlight!

The Ocean Villa – Dreamy and Surprisingly Toddler-Friendly

We were initially unsure about moving to the Ocean Villa with a toddler. But since Teo is a confident walker now and understand instructions we felt comfortable enough to enjoy the iconic overwater experience again—this time, through Teo’s eyes.

Watching him peer over the glass floor panel to spot fish was truly special. It reminded us that the Maldives isn’t just for honeymoons or romantic getaways—it can be a magical family destination too. I also always say, that you have to experience an overwater villa at least once since it is something very unique and there are only a few places on earth where you can experience this. Heritance Aarah has one of the most beautiful turqouise waters I have ever experienced and nothing compares to a morning dip straight out of bed.

DE: Die Ocean Villa – Traumhaft & (überraschend) Kleinkind-tauglich

Erst waren wir etwas unsicher, ob wir mit einem Kleinkind in eine Overwater Villa wechseln sollen. Aber da Teo inzwischen sicher läuft und auf Anweisungen hört, haben wir uns dafür entschieden – und es war wie immer magisch.

Ihn über den Glasboden Fische beobachten zu sehen, war ein ganz besonderer Moment. Es hat uns nochmal gezeigt: Die Malediven sind nicht nur für Honeymoons oder Pärchenurlaube – sie sind auch ein echtes Familienparadies. Ich sage immer: Wer einmal in einer Overwater Villa war, vergisst es nie. Es gibt nur wenige Orte auf der Welt, an denen man das erleben kann. Das Wasser rund um Heritance Aarah ist mit das schönste Türkis, das ich je gesehen habe – und direkt morgens vom Bett ins Meer springen? Unbezahlbar.

Kids Club – Teo’s Little Island Adventure

Heritance Aarah’s Kids Club completely won us over. The staff were warm, attentive, and clearly experienced with toddlers. They didn’t just supervise—they engaged.

Each day, there were a variety of activities tailored to different age groups.

What really impressed us was how secure and peaceful the space felt. It wasn’t a chaotic room full of toys—it was beautifully designed, open to nature, and filled with stimulating toys and crafts. We ended up using the Kids Club for an hour or two most afternoons, giving us a little time to recharge while knowing Teo was having a great time. Babysitting is chargeable for children below the age of 4 and rates start at 20USD/h

Der Kids Club im Heritance Aarah hat uns komplett überzeugt. Die Betreuung war super herzlich, engagiert und richtig erfahren im Umgang mit kleinen Kindern. Hier wird nicht einfach nur „aufgepasst“, sondern wirklich mit den Kleinen gespielt.

Jeden Tag gab es Aktivitäten, die auf verschiedene Altersgruppen abgestimmt waren. Was uns besonders gefallen hat: Der Raum war kein überfülltes Spielzimmer, sondern offen gestaltet, naturverbunden und richtig liebevoll mit Spielsachen und Bastelmaterial eingerichtet. Wir haben den Club fast jeden Nachmittag für ein bis zwei Stunden genutzt – so konnten wir auch mal kurz durchatmen, während Teo super betreut war und Spaß hatte.

Für Kinder unter 4 gibt es auf Wunsch Babysitting, das extra berechnet wird (ab ca. 20 USD pro Stunde).

Returning to Heritance Aarah Maldives with our toddler was an entirely different experience than our first visit—but in the best possible way. This trip wasn’t about candlelit dinners or quiet poolside reads. It was about mornings on the beach, chasing crabs, and pointing out fish every five minutes. It was about connection—both with nature and each other.

If you’re wondering whether the Maldives is suitable for a holiday with a toddler, I can say from the heart: yes, it absolutely is. And if you’re looking for a resort that balances luxury with family-friendly comfort, Heritance Aarah should be at the very top of your list.

We left with sandy toes, full hearts, and one very happy little boy—already asking when we can go back.

DE: Fazit: Die Malediven durch Kinderaugen erleben

Zurück im Heritance Aarah zu sein – diesmal mit Kind – war ein ganz anderes Erlebnis als unser erster Besuch. Aber auf die allerschönste Weise. Keine Candlelight-Dinner oder ruhige Nachmittage am Pool. Stattdessen: Morgens am Strand spielen, Krabben jagen und alle paar Minuten „Fisch!“ rufen. Es ging um Verbindung – zur Natur und zueinander.

Falls du dich fragst, ob die Malediven auch mit Kleinkind geeignet sind: Absolut ja!Und wenn du ein Resort suchst, das Luxus mit Familienfreundlichkeit kombiniert, dann gehört Heritance Aarah ganz nach oben auf deine Liste.
