Cora Cora Maldives Review: All Inclusive Vacation in the Maldives

After seven trips to the Maldives (yes, we’re that obsessed), you’d think we’d seen it all. But this time was a little different—it was our first trip to Cora Cora Maldives.

Spoiler alert: We loved the Cora Cora concept. This place manages to mix effortless island style with seriously good food, family-friendly vibes, and little touches that make a big difference. Here’s everything we experienced—from our dreamy villa to sushi nights and relaxing at the spa.

DE: Nach sieben Reisen auf die Malediven (ja, wir lieben die Malediven), könnte man meinen, wir hätten schon alles gesehen. Aber diesmal war’s anders – es war unser erster Trip ins Cora Cora Maldives.

Spoiler: Wir sind große Fans vom Cora Cora Konzept. Der Mix aus lässigem Insel-Style, richtig gutem Essen, entspannter Familienatmosphäre und vielen kleinen Extras hat uns echt begeistert. Hier kommt alles, was wir erlebt haben – von unserer Traumvilla bis zu Sushi-Abenden und Spa-Zeit.

Lagoon Villa

We stayed in one of the Lagoon Villas, which felt like a little floating dream home. Overwater views? Check. Steps into the sea? Yep. Huge, comfy bed, a cozy indoor lounge area, and an outdoor deck perfect for morning coffees and toddler splash breaks? Absolutely.

Inside, the villa was bright and modern but still cozy. It had everything we needed as a family—space to spread out, a beautiful semi outdoor bathroom , and drip coffee (a must for those early wake-ups, right?). Another great feature was daily refilled mini bar which included soft drinks, snacks and a selection of wine and beer. Outside, we spent most of our time lounging, watching fish swim by, or dipping into the turquoise water just a few steps away.

Bonus: it was close to the main restaurants and pool, so we never had to walk too far. But you can always hop on one the bikes or ask your butler for a ride.

DE: Wir haben in einer der Lagoon Villen gewohnt – ein bisschen wie ein schwebendes Mini-Traumhaus. Blick übers Wasser? Check. Direkter Einstieg ins Meer? Oh ja. Ein riesiges, bequemes Bett, eine gemütliche Lounge innen und eine Terrasse draußen, perfekt für den ersten Kaffee am Morgen oder kleine Wasserspielpausen mit dem Kleinkind? Absolut!

Innen war die Villa hell, modern und trotzdem super gemütlich. Als Familie hatten wir alles, was wir brauchten – viel Platz, ein wunderschönes halb-offenes Badezimmer und sogar Filterkaffee (richtig wichtig bei frühen Aufwachzeiten, oder?).

Ein Highlight: Die Minibar wurde täglich mit Softdrinks, Snacks, Wein und Bier aufgefüllt – alles inklusive. Draußen haben wir meistens einfach gechillt, Fische beobachtet oder sind direkt ins türkisfarbene Wasser gehüpft.

Extra-Pluspunkt: Die Villa war nah an den Restaurants und dem Pool – also keine langen Wege. Aber Ihr könnt auch jederzeit auf eines der Fahrräder hüpfen oder einen Buggy rufen

The Cora Cora App: Your Pocket-Sized Holiday Assistant

Upon arrival, we downloaded the Cora Cora app—and wow, it made everything so smooth. You can use it to:

• Book all your restaurant reservations in a few taps

• Browse full restaurant menus 

• Check out the daily activity schedule, including wellness sessions, live music, and kids club fun

• Reserve spa treatments, excursions, or water sports

• Chat with the team if you need anything

We found it super intuitive, and it meant we didn’t have to call around or queue at the desk—just a few taps, and you’re sorted. Definitely one of the more guest-friendly resort apps we’ve used.

Let’s Talk Food: Endless Variety, No Buffets (Unless You Want One)

Cora Cora’s food game is strong. Everything is part of their Premium All-Inclusive concept, and we loved that everything is à la carte, not buffet-based (except for breakfast, which is a mix).

Here’s the breakdown of where we ate:

Tazäa® – Fresh, Flavorful, and Perfectly Relaxed

Tazäa® was our go-to for lunch. Think Middle Eastern and Indian flavors, with rich spices and plenty of options. The starters are amazing. For breakfast there is a huge selection at the buffet and what I loved most was that eggs and crepes/waffles are made to order and served to your table. So no waiting in line for your omlette.

DE: Beim Essen hat Cora Cora richtig abgeliefert. Alles gehört zum Premium All-Inclusive Konzept – und das Beste: Fast alles ist à la carte. Buffets gibt’s nur beim Frühstück (und auch da teilweise à la carte).

Unsere Food-Faves:

Tazäa® – Frisch, würzig & easygoing Unsere Lunch-Location Nummer eins! Mittelöstliche und indische Küche, voller Geschmack. Die Vorspeisen sind der Hammer. Und beim Frühstück gibt’s ein Mix aus Buffet und à la carte – Eier und Waffeln werden frisch zubereitet und direkt an den Tisch gebracht. Keine Wartezeiten fürs Omelett – yes!

Acquapazza® – Italian with an Island Twist

This spot is beachfront and breezy, with a real holiday feel. They offer wood-fired pizzas, creamy pastas, and fresh seafood dishes. Their menu is fab, and they have a solid wine list if you're into pairing. It’s also where you’ll find live music or chilled beach club vibes in the evening.

Direkt am Strand mit entspanntem Vibe. Holzofenpizza, Pasta, frischer Fisch – und eine gute Weinkarte. Abends gibt’s hier oft Live-Musik oder Beach Club Stimmung.

Ginger Moon® – Asia on a Plate

Vibrant, spicy, and full of flavor, Ginger Moon serves up pan-Asian street food in a stylish, open-air setting. We had pork belly, stir-fried rice, and grilled squid that were chef’s kiss.

Teien®  – Elegant & Unexpected

Sushi lovers, rejoice—Teien is part of the all-inclusive, and it’s seriously good. Fresh sashimi, creative rolls, and hot dishes like yakitori and miso soup. It’s quieter and more refined, making it great for a relaxed dinner. This was my favorite outlet on the island.

Das japanische Restaurant ist im All-Inclusive enthalten – und sooo gut! Frisches Sashimi, kreative Rolls, warme Gerichte wie Yakitori und Udon. Ruhig, edel, perfekt für ein Dinner-Date. Mein Lieblingsrestaurant auf der Insel.

MYCOFFEE® – Chill, Caffeinated, and So Cozy

This cute café became our daily hangout. Great coffee, smoothies, iced lattes, and little treats like cupcakes and cookies. We’d stop here post-breakfast or mid-afternoon with Teo, who loved the fresh juices and ice cream. You can also drop by anytime with your Cora Cora tumbler (provided for each guest) to get a take away coffee.

All outlets offer a special kids menu with all the favourites: Chicken nuggets, spaghetti, ice cream ect. So if you have a picky eater, Cora Cora got you covered.

DE: MYCOFFEE® – Kaffee, Smoothies & Gemütlichkeit Dieses Café war unser täglicher Treffpunkt. Kaffee, Smoothies, kleine Leckereien wie Muffins und Kekse – und frische Säfte & Eis für Teo. Mit dem Cora Cora Becher (bekommt jede*r Gast) kannst du dir jederzeit einen Kaffee to-go holen.

Für Kids gibt’s überall eine eigene Karte – mit Klassikern wie Chicken Nuggets, Spaghetti und Eis. Perfekt für kleine (wählerische) Esser!

Grab & Go: Snack Time, Anytime

This was one of those little touches that made a huge difference—especially with a toddler in tow. All restaurants offer a Grab & Go option, where you can order drinks, snacks, or light meals to take with you. Perfect for:

• Beach picnics with a fresh juice and wrap

• Early-morning toddler meltdowns 

• Snacks by the pool without needing to fully sit down

• Taking snacks or coffee back to your villa

It’s all included, and it gave us so much flexibility. No pressure to sit down if we didn’t feel like it—just grab, go, and keep living that island life.

Spa Time: Just What We Needed

I had a 30 minute back and shoulder massage—and it was exactly the reset I needed. Overwater treatment rooms, calming music, and therapists who knew how to melt away travel stress. They also offer complimentary group sessions like sound therapy. If you want to stay active, the island gym is just nearby.

Ich hatte eine 30-minütige Rücken- und Schultermassage – genau das Reset, das ich gebraucht hab. Behandlungsräume über dem Wasser, entspannte Musik und tolle Therapeuten. Es gibt auch Gruppenangebote wie Sound Healing. Und wer lieber aktiv ist: Das Gym ist direkt ums Eck.

The Kids Club: A Toddler Dreamland

The Kids Club at Cora Cora is cozy, fun, and full of energy. Even though Teo is under the typical age (they start from age 3), we could stop by anytime together and he could play with toys, do some coloring. It’s open all day (except during lunchtime) and has a shaded outdoor play area too. Babysitting service is available upon request and starts at 25USD/hour.

Der Kids Club ist klein, liebevoll und voller Spielmöglichkeiten. Zwar ist Teo noch unter dem offiziellen Mindestalter (ab 3 Jahren), aber wir durften jederzeit gemeinsam rein – zum Spielen, Malen oder Toben. Es gibt sogar einen schattigen Outdoor-Spielplatz. Babysitting ist auf Anfrage möglich (ab 25 USD/Stunde).

Poolside & Beach Days

Cora Cora nails the balance of chill and fun. The main pool is gorgeous and has a shallow end for little swimmers. Fresh towels and plenty of sun chairs are available.

The beach? Pure powdery perfection. There is even a small sandbank, perfect for watching the sunset.

Getting to Cora Cora Maldives: Seaplane or Domestic Flight

Reaching Cora Cora Maldives is part of the adventure! The resort is located in the Raa Atoll, approximately 178 kilometers northwest of Malé. Upon landing at Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé, you have two transfer options:

1. Seaplane Transfer: A scenic 45-minute seaplane flight offers breathtaking aerial views of the Maldivian atolls. This direct flight lands you right at the resort's arrival jetty, making it the most convenient and picturesque option.

2. Domestic Flight + Speedboat: Alternatively, you can take a 35-minute domestic flight to Ifuru Domestic Airport, followed by a 20-minute speedboat ride to the resort. This option might be preferable during unfavorable seaplane flying conditions. 

Both transfer methods are arranged by the resort, ensuring a seamless journey to paradise.

Die Anreise nach Cora Cora Maldives ist schon der erste Teil des Abenteuers! Die Insel liegt im Raa-Atoll, ca. 45 Minuten mit dem Wasserflugzeug von Malé entfernt – und genau das ist auch die bequemste und schönste Art, anzukommen.

Nach der Landung am Velana International Airport (MLE) stehen dir zwei Optionen zur Verfügung:

1. Wasserflugzeug:Ein ca. 45-minütiger Flug mit spektakulären Ausblicken auf die Atolle – und das Beste: Du landest direkt am Jetty der Insel.

2. Inlandsflug + Speedboat: Alternativ kannst du einen ca. 35-minütigen Inlandsflug nach Ifuru Airport nehmen, gefolgt von einer 20-minütigen Speedboatfahrt zur Insel. Diese Option wird oft genutzt, wenn das Wetter keine Wasserflugzeuge zulässt.

Beide Varianten werden vom Resort organisiert – also einfach zurücklehnen und die Reise ins Paradies genießen!

The Dutch Onion® Museum & Outdoor Heritage Site: A Cultural Gem

One of Cora Cora Maldives' unique offerings is the Dutch Onion® Museum and Outdoor Heritage Site, providing guests with an immersive journey into the rich history of the Maldives. Officially inaugurated on International Museum Day in 2022, it's the only licensed museum at a resort in the Maldives, second only to the National Museum in Malé.

The outdoor heritage site features two 12th-century temple tanks, a mosque fountain, and a traditional Maldivian house from the 1900s. This cultural treasure trove offers guests a rare glimpse into the Maldives' storied past, enriching their island experience.​

Was Cora Cora besonders macht? Das Dutch Onion® Museum und das dazugehörige Outdoor Heritage Gelände – ein echtes Highlight für alle, die neben Sonne und Meer auch ein bisschen Kultur erleben möchten.

Fun Fact: Cora Cora ist das einzige Resort auf den Malediven mit einer eigenen, offiziell lizenzierten Museumsanlage! Eröffnet wurde sie 2022 – und seitdem gibt’s hier über 400 Fundstücke zu entdecken.

Draußen kannst du alte Tempelbecken, eine historische Moschee und ein traditionelles maledivisches Haus aus dem 20. Jahrhundert bestaunen. Ein richtig cooles Extra – und eine tolle Möglichkeit, die Geschichte der Malediven hautnah zu erleben.

Final Thoughts: Is Cora Cora Maldives Worth It?

1000% YES. Whether you're a Maldives first-timer or a repeat visitor like us, Cora Cora hits the sweet spot—luxury without stuffiness, amazing food, spacious villas, and a real sense of warmth. It’s ideal for couples, families, and anyone who just wants to truly relax. The vibe is light and fun. And for the food is what stood out the most.
